After graduating from John Brown University I started my profession in the sign industry, in which I worked for 2 years.
This experience was very beneficial. Today I continue to design and produce banners, signage & vehicle graphics of all types.
For seven years I was a greeting card designer at DaySpring, which is a subsidiary of Hallmark. In this role I grew in many areas of design. Design program proficiency, the conceptual process, ability to execute various art "styles", color, layout/composition, typography, are a few of those areas of growth during my time as a card designer.
I believe the processes involved in creating greeting cards cover the spectrum of all skills needed in the print-design profession and many carry over into web design.
I worked on the DaySpring.com eCommerce team for 5 years as a...well, anything visual that has to do with the site! :)
In this role I designed multiple print pieces, created hundreds of Affiliate Banner Ads, crafted hundreds of emails, scheduled/planned and directed dozens of lifestyle & product photo shoots, and much more. Every task I took on needed to be on brand, from ads to emails to photography direction.
For the past 6 years I have shifted to a managerial role, working on the executive team of a very affluent family, managing properties and hiring various contract workers. This position has further developed me into a person that takes extreme ownership & responsibility. Project management, handyman projects, solving complex issues in designing & building a variety of high-end home features have been a few areas of growth in this role. This position has no limits as far as responsibility & skills required, literally having to be a jack of all trades.
